The killer whale tooth is almost entirely composed of dentin and is considered a form of ivory. The Inuit, who inhabit Arctic areas of Greenland, Canada and Alaska, were the first to develop the art of scrimshow, which is a carving on the surface of the teeth of whales with sharp needles or a knife tip.
